Hugo Rivera - Lips

The lips of a woman are a sensual organ. They can be sexy and serious at the same time. They can be mysterious and misleading while stimulating the mind to behave in ways abnormal to social expectations. The reds and pinks of the lips are positioned against the ochre and earth tones of the face demanding a reaction, both accepting and challenging the question of what is normal.

Over the last few decades Hugo Rivera has become famous for the stories that each contemporary piece created tells the onlooking audience. Each abstract, face, and figure contain an underlying message left for interpretation by the collector.
