Karol Jersak was born in Toronto and also resided in Vancouver B.C. Canada, but currently resides in Southern California. She attended and studied at three art colleges in Canada. While attending Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver B.C. her studies included painting, print making and sculpture. It was there that she focused painting artwork with textures and using papers with mixed mediums.
She was sponsored into the U.S. in 1998 to work as an interior design artist by Linda and Doug Studebaker. The showroom was called Tribeca Home and Design in the Bay Area Ca. Numerous clients of Linda’s store bought Karol’s paintings and commissioned her to do murals.
The combined influences of education in art colleges, travel, interior design, fashion, fabrics and jewelry is her inspiration of color palettes, used in her mixed media paintings. She uses layering of acrylic paints mixed with gels papers and pigment powders. The placement of paper applications on her paintings gives the burst of beautiful accent colors.
Karol creates all sizes of paintings to suit the scale and color palettes for various residential and commercial, environments. The paintings give a bright and playful visual effect.
“My paintings are created to be the jewelry piece of where they live.”
